2019 Domaine Danjou-Banessy “Supernova” MUSCAT D’ALEXANDRIE Languedoc Roussilon
An orange wine from the South of France. The Muscat d’Alexandrie grape is a white wine grape considered an "ancient vine", and believe to be one of the oldest genetically unmodified vines still in existence. The first trace of the grapes go back to Egypt but it is found nowadays in Greece and also in Sicily under the name Zibibbo.
The wine is intensely aromatic and can make incredible dessert wine.
With 2-week skin contact and 6-month maceration in barrels with a little oxidation the wine delivers tropical fruits notes and bergamot. It becomes wilder and more expressive with this winemaking process. This is a perfect orange wine for those who are not yet use to the style.
